The once-a-year advocacy event you can't miss!

Hill Day

One Tuesday every winter, music therapists, students, educators, and community supporters comes together to meet face-to-face with state senators and representatives. It's an incredible opportunity to shake their hands and shake up their day with stories of the impact music therapy has on their constituents.

Professional Music Therapists

Have you every gotten home from work just waiting to tell someone about the amazing session you had? You are the perfect Hill Day participant! As music therapists, we see the first-hand impact of music therapy, so we are the best advocates for our clients!

Not sure what to say? The Task Force has decades of combined experience explaining music therapy to legislators and are more than happy to meet with music therapists who need help to tell their story.

Students

Student participation is integral to the success of Hill Day. Legislators need to know why you chose to study this field, what the future of music therapy looks like in Washington, and all the amazing experiences you've had as an observer and a student clinician.

Community Partners

Has music therapy impacted your life or improved your workplace? The most compelling stories come from our community partners, individuals, and families who have benefited first-hand from music therapy.

Don't have time to tell your story? Get in touch and we can work with you to find ways you can support music therapy that fit your schedule and availability.

Nervous?

We get it! It's not everyday you come face-to-face with a state elected official.

The Task Force's role is to take all the stress out of Hill Day meetings and events so you can have fun and focus on telling your story. Every meeting has a task force member present and there are many other Hill Day projects that don't require meeting with folks in suits. Just let us know your comfort level!
